gosh abby, what the heck happened?!

I got stranded in the woods for half a year, surviving only on twigs and leaves and my awesome surviving skills, while battling bears, rattle snakes, and the like, getting trapped in swamps and making it out just in time, and getting stung by killer bees, but saving myself with a special suave I came up with using only tree bark and saliva.

I recently got a comment saying I haven't been on here since May. And I was all like "what! nahh... I like just got on here, what the heck." Then I went to my blog and soon found out that I hadn't been on since May. In fact, I kind of forgot which email I used to create this blog and it took me a few minutes to figure it out.

This, my friends, is the sign of a very neglected blog. But to be perfectly honest, I really haven't even painted my nails all that much since May. I remember painting them like 3 times since then.

I still love nail polish. I still like all the colors nail polish allows me to wear on my nails. But I'm kind of not as big of a fan of doing designs on my nails anymore. I never was and probably never will be great with a paintbrush, and since I really haven't done many designs since May, I've gone from okay to, well, bad.

So we shall see what becomes of this blog. Will I pick up nail designing later down the road? Will I decide to further forget about this blog? Will I change the blog to something else? I'm not exactly sure at the moment.

Valentine's Day Nail Art - Easy Heart Design

Sorry this is up a few day late - my computer was broken for like 3 days, so that delayed me in getting this up, but it's finally here! I hope this is up early enough for you to do this design in time for V-day!

Plus, I uploaded it on Youtube and noticed the narration was totally gone! So I had to fix the raw video, save it again, and then upload it to Youtube again. Not that hard, but time consuming, especially since I'm already so behind.

This will probably be my last Valentine's Day nail design, at least for this year. =D

This is like a super easy, not tutorial needed design... but... yea. Whatev. Sorry if it seems too simple, but it is Simple Nail Designs, right? ;D

Well... hello there!

Hey guys!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. I know, I know. I totally need to make a video. I mean. Come on Abby. It's not like you died or anything, pick up the pace!

But, there has been some personal things going on in my life right now, and not only have I been busy, but I have not been able to make videos because my editing program crashed! Sheesh. I know. It always does this to me, and then it makes me look like I totally forgot about you guys. But I promise I didn't. Although, I did enjoy my break. Now it's time for some video making! Well... when I get the video editing program working again.

But, in the meantime, I have something for you guys!

You may have already noticed....

I finally made a new blog button! It took me forever. I really didn't like my old one. I made it when I had no idea what I was doing, and besides that, the picture was an old nail design.

So, you can go ahead and replace it, if you want. Or if you didn't have the old one, you can put on the new one! I'm totally fine with that.... {wink} ;D.

Christmas Nail Design - Poinsettia Inspired French Manicure

Here is a Christmas nail design for you guys! I am thinking of having at least one other Christmas design, but Christmas is in only 6 days, so we'll see! I do, however, want to get a few more winter designs!

I give this design an 'E'... for effort. :P LOL. The french is ok, but the poinsettia didn't turn out as good as I wanted it to be. Let's just say it actually looks a lot better in person. (It really does). Every time I look back at the pictures I took, I keep thinking how less and less it looks like a poinsettia, and more and more like... fire. LOL. I think the colors stand out more in person, and it just looks a little better. :P

What is true beauty??

I wanted to dedicate this post to one of my favorite verses - 1 Samuel 16:7.

"But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

I also really like it in "The Message" version: (above was the New American Standard)

But God told Samuel, "Looks aren't everything. Don't be impressed with his looks and stature. I've already eliminated him. God judges persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face; God looks into the heart."

Too many girls my age are falling in to the trap of lies about being pretty and beautiful on the outside. Especially with my nail blog and youtube and kinda seems like that's what I stand for, but that's exactly opposite. Sure, I do want to look pretty on the outside, I think we all do, but that's not my main focus. Painting your nails is something to make you look more pretty on the outside but it means absolutely nothing if what's on the inside is nasty and ugly.

I think sometimes we all can get sucked in to the devils lies that tell us we are ugly on the outside and so we start primping more on the outside, and we lose sight that it's what's on the inside that counts. I know that in this day and age looking beautiful on the inside is not something that's taken seriously and people are more worried about their physical appearance. Here's a video I saw on one of my friends blog that I got permission to post on my blog. I watched this video like 14 times (hehe) because I love the message it conveys! Too many girls are doing all these things to make them look like the people in magazines and TV and all media. Here's a video though showing you what they do to the models in those magazines and on TV and in the movies.

Even after putting about 5 pounds of makeup on, they photoshopped her and made her neck slimmer and taller, made her eyes brighter and bigger, made her lips more plump, made her nose smaller and her hair bigger...

I love what it says at the end 'No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted.' It's very true. Hardly anyone can look that great without doing something to themselves to make them look better. She was a totally different women when they were done with her! I wouldn't even call her the same person. (Btw, I think she was very pretty before they did all that to her.)

We are all so focused on being beautiful on the outside that we totally forget and we don't see how ugly we are on the inside. I must admit, I sometimes get caught up in the worlds lies of being only beautiful on the outside... it's pretty easy to do.

I know it probably seems to a lot of people who don't really know who I am or what I stand for or anything, they just know I make nail art tutorials, that all I worry about is being beautiful on the outside. Just always remember that being beautiful on the outside means absolutely nothing if your not beautiful on the inside. (:

I'm a teenager, and I know how hard it is to do that - to stay true and be beautiful on the inside when the world is telling you to do drugs and alcohol and to be fake. How 1 Samuel 16:7 puts it - man looks on the outside. We judge people by how they look. Our natural instinct is to think that people who look not "normal" and how everyone else looks, we automatically opt them out and think they're weird. But God doesn't see what we look like on the outside. He doesn't opt out people who look weird. (As a matter of fact, He doesn't opt out anybody.) But He looks on the inside. That's why we need to be beautiful on the inside. If that's the part God (who is King of all kings, Lord of all lords, creator and maker of everything) sees in us, then we want that to be the best part of us, right? After all, He is the one who is going to judge us on judgment day. If we choose Him to be in our hearts and decide to be beautiful on the inside, then we will go to heaven to live with God.

One of my friend's (who I got the video from) has a modesty blog that talks a lot about being beautiful on the inside, and she does also talk about being beautiful on the outside, too. It's a really great blog and it really encourages me to remember that inside beauty is much more important than outside beauty.

How To: Apply Press-On Nails

-I know I always have some kind of lame excuse, so my excuse for this time is that since my videos take about 8 hours at the very least to upload on to youtube, I normally do them overnight and then the next morning they still have an hour or two. I started this one in the morning expecting it to be almost done by night time. My brothers computer wasn't working so he got on mine, and he signed my out of my gmail. (Gmail and youtube are connected.) So it signed me out and after finally uploading the video, it couldn't post it because I was no longer signed in! And also after that my upload failed... lol. So now I have to start it all over again... sorry for the long wait in between videos. It seems there's always something trying to stop me from posting them. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!!-

This tutorial will show you how to apply press-on nails in 8 steps.

The nails I will be using can be purchased at Walmart or any of your local drugstores. I got mine for around $5.99. Please don't feel obligated to get this brand! Use absolutely any brand you would like. This is just a brand I was recommended, and so I wanted to try it out. I might give my opinion later, but this is the first box of press-on nails, so I can't compare this brand to any other ones.

The brand I'm using is a very common brand - Broadway Real Life Nails. Use whatever brand you prefer or is convenient for you.

Pink Leopard Print Nail Art Tutorial

-Please read!- (: Ok, wow I'm really sorry! (I know, lame :P) I made this video like... Friday? And then Adobe Media Encoder (how I save my videos) crashed and I couldn't get it fixed until last night at like... 7. So I saved my video and uploaded it on to youtube. Usually it takes about 4 hours for my videos to upload and then an hour or so for it to process, and then it's finally where you can see it. Welll... this one took 5 hours just to upload, and it still wasn't done. So I went to bed and when I got up... it had like just uploaded. Anyways, so I went to watch it and... it wasn't the video. It was raw footage that I uploaded thinking it was the video. Maybe I saved the wrong file? I'm not sure though because I was almost sure it was the right one. To make matters worse, I have the flu. Yea. It's like really bad. :( Anyways, enjoy the video! :D

These really simple leopard nails are so cute and easy! The hardest part is painting your base color... (;

Of course you can do them in any color... the traditional browns and golds, or you could try something more exotic like purple or green. (:

Btw, I got a new mic. Can you tell? It's a mic that was actually used for a radio station, so it's a pretty good one. (: It's HUGE. ahaha.

Halloween Nail Art Quickie - Spider Nails

These cute little spider decors are a cinch to add to your nails! With just a few minutes time, you can have these 'more cute than spooky spiders' on your nails.

My family and I aren't that big on Halloween, however, we do dress up for it. I came up with these spider nails with that in mind - nothing too spooky, and something pretty cute. We don't necessarily think of Halloween as a holiday, but more of a day to act silly and dress up with friends, and have clean fun :D But I do know that a lot of people go all out for Halloween, so I decided I would do some designs, and it was requested by someone over on YouTube. Tiny Update & Nerdy Math Nails

Sooo.... sorry I haven't put up a tutorial in a week. Just thought I would say I won't be able to get a tutorial up for another week, at least! I'm going on a trip all weekend (Fri-Sun) so it's going to be harder to make one with Saturday out. I also have been focusing on schoolwork instead of nail tutorials, so I apologize for that! I really would love to make tutorials like 3 times a week, but realistically it can't happen.

Meanwhile, here is a nail design that I did that wasn't something I would make in to a tutorial, but I thought they were pretty funny.

Pinky - Addition

Ring - Subtraction

Middle - Multplication

Pointer - Division

Thumb - Pi

Heh heh, just showing you my nerdy side. (Btw, if I memorized the first 20 numbers of pi, does that make me a nerd?!) Haha, anyways....

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in 'Flawless' review

About a week ago I made a trip up to my local Walmart to buy 2 things in particular. One was, uh a pair of earrings, but the other was the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polish, specifically in the color 'Flawless.' Since this is a clear, I had in mind to use it as a topcoat, and basecoat if it allowed. On the bottle it points out that the polish is "NO CHIP." My mission was to test this product for a 5-day week.

I had recently gotten another Sally Hansen polish that I wanted to try. It was a Sally Hansen Hard as Nails product in "Sun Kissed."
Anywayyys, I applied a basecoat with the Flawless polish, and let that dry. I really don't have too much to say on the application of the first coat. It took a little longer to dry than I'm used to, but Sally Hansen products tend to take a while to dry, or at least in my experience. Next I applied 2 coats of Sun kissed, letting it dry between each coat. I then applied one more coat of the Flawless over top of the color.
One thing I need to tell you about it, is it takes FOREVER to dry! I'm not even joking. It took about 20 minutes to dry to the touch, and then for about 3 hours after that it was still in the "dent-able" mode. Any slight bump would make a small dent in the polish.

Let's talk about the bottle for a second. Some people may not care what the bottle looks like or how it feels, or anything to do with the exterior packaging for that matter. I'm kinda in the middle. I don't buy products just for how it looks on the outside, but I think the packaging does have quite a bit in the decision making for buying it or not, or at least for me.

The bottle has a really cute fake diamond on the front of the bottle, advertising the "Diamond Strength" that the polish has, which is also the brand. One thing I absolutely love, and I think all brands should have this little feature, is the cap. I wouldn't really think this from looking at it, but after using it I am sold on it. The shape of the cap is incredible! Haha.
It is really easy to get open, and fits very comfortably in your hands, which makes the applying all that easier. I absolutely love the design of it, and whoever came up with that is a genius. Of course some people may not like it, but after looking at some other reviews, it seems as most of other people like this feature too. What makes this cap so incredible is the 'hour-glass' shape of it. It just fits so comfortably in your hand.

I took pictures everyday for 5 days to show you what my nails looked like after each day. Keep in mind that each day I was fairly hard on my nails. The average, I guess. I wasn't trying to be hard on my nails, but I wasn't doing everything I could to stop them from chipping. I was washing dishes, doing laundry, typing, etc.

Day 1: (the day after I painted my nails, since I painted them on Monday night.)

Left Hand:

Notice there is no tip-wear. (Tip-wear is when the polish starts to wear/chip at the tip of your nail and also the part of your nail where you file them.) The lack of polish on the sides at the top is not chipping; it's from poor painting by me.

Day 2:

Left Hand:

A tiny bit of tip-wear on the part where you file your nails. I can't remember if I painted that part or not, but I don't think so, so I'm pretty sure it hadn't started chipping any yet.

Notice the tiny chip on my left thumb.

Here you can see a little bit of tip-wear starting on my left pointer finger.

Right hand:

A tiny chip on my right hand pointer finger as well. These aren't that noticeable from the average person just seeing your manicure. In other words, there hasn't been chipping that you can see very well yet. If someone just looked at your nails for about 20-30 seconds, which most likely they won't look at them for longer than that, then they won't be able to see the chips that have started.

Day 3:

Left hand:

Seeing tiny chips on my middle and pointer finger.

The chip on my thumb is a bit bigger, but still not extremely noticeable, and there is also some tip-wear starting on the right side. (5 stars for dog in the picture??)

Right hand:

The chip on my pointer finger has now gotten bigger and has started to go a bit further down my nail. On my right hand I'm also starting to see some fading in the orange color at the bottom of my nail.

In this picture you can kinda see the tip-wear on my other nails.

Day 4:

Left Hand:

The chip on my middle finger has gotten a bit bigger.

The tip-wear on my pointer and middle finger.

Right Hand:

The chip on my pointer finger has gotten a little bigger since the day before.

My middle finger on my right hand has also begun chipping just a bit. I also noticed a little more color-fading at the bottom of my nails. I mainly only saw that on my right hand.

This is kind of what all of my nails have been doing; tiny little chips on the sides of my nails and a little bit of tip-wear.

Day 5: (final day)

Left Hand:

Those little chips on the sides of my nails are also on my left hand.

Quite a bit of tip-wear.

Right Hand:

The chip on my pointer finger has gotten considerably bigger.

All of the chips have gotten bigger.

You can also see the tiny dents in my pointer finger. This illustrates my point about the topcoat being in that "dent-able mode" for a few hours. There are also some tiny cracks at the side of my nails, but those are hardly noticeable when you just look at your nails.

As you can see, my nails did chip. I think what I should do if I want my polish to last longer is to re-paint the topcoat each day. The chipping wasn't too bad in real life, actually. I got really close with the camera so you could see even the tiny chips. There weren't any huge chips, just little ones. The main ones you could see were on my middle finger on my left hand and on my pointer finger on my right hand.

Note: I am right handed, so there was a bit more tip-wear and chipping on that hand.

Also, sorry about the dryness of my skin. It's getting cold and that's when my skin starts to get dry.

Here's a bit more on this product:

How much was it? I got it for $4.

Where can you get it? I got mine at Walmart, but they have it at a bunch of drugstores.

Rating (1-10) - I'd say about a 4.5 to 5.

Would I buy this product again? I probably would.

Things I liked about this product? It made my nails SUPER strong! I think the main thing they were focusing on when making this polish is that it will make your nails stronger. It's a very good nail hardener/strengthener, so if your looking for just that, I would totally recommend this product. It also made my nails super shiny, and did protect my nail polish more than if I wouldn't have applied it.

Thing I disliked about this product? For one, I still did get chips in my nail polish. I wasn't expecting no chips whatsoever, but I had heard people saying it kept their polish on with no chips for a 7-day week. It didn't do this for me. It also took a while to dry, and if you don't want any dents in your polish, you will have to be very careful for about 3-4 hours after applying it. I did see some air bubbles, but they eventually went away after a day or two.

What will I use this for in the future? I'm probably only going to use it as a nail hardener, and not necessarily as a topcoat, however I may use it for a topcoat every now and then.

Would I recommend this to a friend? I probably would, but I would make sure they knew what to expect. I think if your expecting a really good topcoat out of this product, you wouldn't be very satisfied with it. However, if you are using it as a nail hardener, I think you would love it 100%. I found my nails are very strong and grew pretty long really fast.

All in all - I absolutely love this product as a base coat/nail hardener, but not so much as a topcoat. BUT I have heard people say they got no chipping and really loved this as a topcoat, so I think it works different for different people.

I hope you benefited from this review and have made up your mind to buy, or not to buy, this product! Let me know your thoughts on this polish and whether or not you would purchase it again.

Okay guys, I know I'm late! :( Buuut, maybe you can still used this design?? Hopefully?
Anyways, this is a realllly cute design! It's the top of a pencil, and I absolutely love it! Haha... I know it was a real quick and easy design, but hopefully you will still like it (:

Another thing - I am so sorry about the audio! I know it's terrible, but I have a crappy mic and this was the first time I narrated it in this editing system. I actually can't narrate it in Premiere Pro (or not that I know of. You probably can, but I haven't figure it out yet) so I'm narrating it in this cheap-o voice recording system. Next time I am hoping it will be better. There's really loud static in the background, and it's terribly quiet! Maybe if you turn your speakers all the way up you can hear it? SO sorry about that! It seriously wouldn't go any louder. I spent days trying to figure it out but failed. Miserably.

Pink and White Polka Dot Nail Tutorial

Well hello all my lovely ladies! It's been a while hasn't it? I've been a little MIA lately. Hopefully that's gonna change soon but with school starting I'm not so sure that's gonna happen.
So I got a new camera and I'm using a new editing system. Both took a while to get used to, and that was the main reason I haven't gotten a video up in what, like 2 months?? Haha that's terrible. Like seriously who neglects their blog/youtube that long? ME... hate to say it, but it's true.

Fourth of July - American Flag Nail Design

I'm sooo excited for this design!! I love it. It is inspired by an American flag for Fourth of July. Of course it will work for any day or occasion. I had to get this up tonight, because we have family coming tomorrow. And just to let you know, don't expect any nail designs until after the 7th of July. We have family coming and leaving on that day, and I probably won't get another tutorial up until a few days, or maybe a week, after that. Sorry!

Hi guys, so some of you know that I filmed this tutorial and it wouldn't let me put the video up. I got requested to do a review on the french tip nail pen but I didn't have the pen. So I went to the store... *cough a couple weeks after that cough* and I filmed it. Anyway, I'm not exactly sure what is happening with Blogger, but it does this weird thing with videos where it will stop working and then come back in a few weeks, and it happens a lot. I am lucky if I get a few videos in between when that happens. It didn't happen when I first started my videos, so I'm not sure if it's because I have so many videos on it already, or if Blogger is just changing, or it's my computer, or what.

But I have been trying to upload this video since a week or two after starting my contest, which was February, 27th. So if you can see I'm a little frustrated with Blogger because numero uno I spent time and money on getting the product and making the video, and then I can't put it up. And number two I promised the person who requested that I would get it up ASAP. Well.... 4 months isn't exactly what I call ASAP! Lol, so I'm really, really sorry it has taken me this long.... you can blame it on Blogger ;) Haha.

So, I have found a way to put the video on here, but not actually having to use Blogger's video uploading system. The way is: Photobucket. I was originally going to upload video's on to a YouTube account, and then put the embed code in here, change it a little to make it smaller and quality better, but now we are getting in to all the technical stuff that I do which may be complicated... I haven't actually told you all the stuff that I do... haha it will probably make you bored (as this long rant is doing.) So, yea I was gonna do all that, but then, because I already had a Photobucket, I thought I could just upload it on there, then get the embed code and I do tweak it a bit to make it better :) (Time consuming, but worth it) So anyway, the video does look different, and all my other videos will look different also, as well as the nail tutorial before this post.

Just ignore the videos that come at the end... I tried taking it off as I found it a distraction, but after a few hours I got a little bored, and I'm definitely not the computer savvy my dad is.... haha yea let's just say he can pretty much do anything on the computer (and that's his job ;) )

SO sorry sorry sorry about the long post and the whole mess of the thing... I tried. I really did. Also, I look really horrible in the video... I'm sorry for videoing me looking like that. It was really the only time I could do it because at that time we had a lot going on and some personal stuff going on with distant family.

You don't have to read below, that's just what I put when I was going to make this post, which was right before I uploaded the video and didn't know that it didn't work. And the first time it did work, it wasn't working properly, and so I took it down, and that's the reason this whole thing started. It also led to not being able to upload any videos for a few weeks, including nail videos, but that was behind the scenes, and I usually don't tell you that kinda stuff just because I'm not really sure you would care too much. Lol.

OH AND ONE MORE THING... so sorry I did NOT intend for this post to be so long!! :( Sorry about the length of the video... I tried shortening it, but I had a lot to say (as I always do, and it annoys me a lot) about the nail pen, but all in all I do really like it and will be using it in the near future (also in videos, if you want.)

Spring/Summer Nail Polish Trend (What's In, What's Out)

Yea, I have pretty much been neglecting this blog and the reason is: life! That and I'm not really sure what designs to do. So to let you know that I'm still alive, I need to post a post that actually has a point. I decided to make a little Nail Polish Trend post telling you what my favorite kind of nail polishes are at the moment... what is "in" and "out" for me.

In's:

Dark colors - I am really loving very dark colors, specifically dark purple. I LOVE that color on my nails and I have loved it since the first day I ever put it on. Dark reds and blues I really like also, and dark greens are still hanging in there for me.

Suggestions: Wet n Wild has a really pretty purple called Eggplant Frost, Wet n Wild's dark red: Burgundy Frost, N.Y.C.'s dark blue: Skin Tight Denim (this one is pretty hard to work with from what I can tell when I use it), N.Y.C.'s dark purple: Purple Pizzaz Frost.

Light colors - Ok, I know this totally contradicts my first one! BUT If it's not dark, it's really, really light. I am really loving light, light pink (to where it's basically translucent, but you still can see it and it's not completely see through.) I am really loving light blues also... blues are just SO pretty, don't you think? Also I really like light greens.

Suggestions: Wet Shine has a really light pink but it is very thick, hard to work with and takes a long time to dry since its so thick... unless they have changed it since when I bought it, but it's called: Ballet on Ice, N.Y.C.'s pink... it is almost white it's so light: Polyester Pink, N.Y.C.'s very sparkly, very sheer, very pretty pink: Classic Coral, Express Finish's pink... this is more of a sheer pink than a light pink but it's very pretty too: Tulip Take Off

Browns/Bronzes - I have really loved these ever since I got the first bottle, but now I am Really starting to like them (yes, with a capital R.) They are so pretty to me :)

Suggestions: Wet n Wild has a very pretty one, however my bottle didn't have the name on there, so sorry about that! I might could find one on the internet or in the stores if you are interested though, Pure Ice's VERY pretty bronze: Iced Copper. I used the Wet n Wild one with my Football nails, because the Wet n Wild's has more of a red undertone to it and the Pure Ice was more copper like.

Glitter - I think all of us girly-girls have been in to this one at least once. I really like them now... they are just SO pretty and I think its perfect for Spring!

Suggestions: N.Y.C has a VERY pretty glitter that has greens, blues, reds... all these different sparkles in it and it's probably my favorite glitter that I own. It's called: White Lights, Wet n Wild has one that is silver with red, blues, greens and those type sparkles in it... N.Y.C's is clear with the sparkles. Wet n Wild's is called: Kaleidoscope. If you are wanting a more natural looking sparkle, Love My Nail's has a very pretty glitter that is clear with a bunch of silver sparkles.

Outs:

Black - It has never been a polish that I have wanted to wear. To me it looks really gothic and not Christian... besides it is very plain and dark looking... wouldn't you rather want to wear a neon or bright color to cheer you up? :) I would.

Yellows - This is actually very funny because just last week I was in love with yellow polish and I couldn't keep it off my nails... now I can't stand to put it on. There's just something that I don't like about it anymore. I'm not really sure what it is, but I just really don't like it on my nails at the moment... but next week.... lol.

I own every bottle of polish I mentioned and recommend every one. Try them out and see if you like them :)

Ok, so I have been procrastinating this off for so long, so I decided I would not do it. It's the video for my little contest. I would do it if I got asked more than 3 questions and if they were from different people... BUT I got asked 3 questions and their all from the same person. So I will be doing this again for all those who wanted to be in it but didn't get the chance. If you are totally confused about it all and are alike "What contest?!" then you can go to the label 'contest' and read all those posts. It just so happened that the day I said I was going to put the answers video up, was the day there is a auction we are having for our church camp and I am volunteering to make some things to donate and the money that they get from people buying the stuff will go to the camp. (I am posting more about this later on my craft blog (linked to the top right of my blog) along with pictures of everything I made.)

Anyway, I didn't even know that it was coming up until my mom told me 5 days before that I would be making some things (which I was really excited about) but... that, also, happened to be the week that we had Co-op, meaning I had a bunch of homework and also the week I had a lot of tests for school, so with all of this happening I only had 2 days to make everything, SO with all of THAT happening, my nail blog was the last thing I could think about. My point is this week was a very busy week and hopefully you can understand that family and other "have to" events comes before my blog, and I work on my blog in my free time.

Sorry if it sounds like I am making excuses or complaining, but I just wanted to say that I will not be posting the answers, but since my friend graciously asked questions, I will be e-mailing her privately the answers, so if you are the person who asked the questions then you will be getting a e-mail from me sometime next week (well... another e-mail from me ;) )

Anyway, this was supposed to be a short post explaining, and then off to bed for me, but it wasn't and I apologize for that. Hopefully you got my point... pretty much I am just saying that this week was a busy one and not the norm. Ok yeah, thats pretty much just making excuses, but I really do feel bad about it and about not getting a nail design up in a while!! I am working on it... just give some time... or MORE time than you already have :) Thank you everyone for hanging in there and getting those wonderful comments from all of my WONDERFUL followers makes it all worth it! Sorry I haven't posted a nail tutorial since February, 22 (I posted one for my guest post) but I have been really busy, and testing is next week. I am holding off nail tutorials until my contest is over, but since it has been so long I will get 1 nail tutorial up everyday for a week. I'm not sure what week I will be doing it, but hopefully the one after my contest is over. I will have to see what my schedule permits, though first (and my parents).

Tye-Dye Inspired Nails

So anyway, I thought this was kinda cool, so I wanted to show it :) I was just playing around with colors and this is what I came up with! You can use any colors for any occasion :) It showed up black on the front of the video... which I think I can change... but that is why I put the picture of the nails below. :) Also, my brother made the beginning intro from scratch, which I will be using now. He spent 5 hours making it and I like it a lot!! I also added the background music which I think I like so far! Let me know if you like both of those adjustments :D

I got the idea from your button thing toward the bottom of your blog on the sidebar that says "Welcome Family and Friends". I was wondering if you'd be able to make a tutorial on a design with small light pink polka dots and a basecoat with a hot pink...kinda like the button on your blog. It would be cool if you could do it with white tips. :) That would be really pretty. I know that sounds really hard and weird....lol. Thanks so much for requesting Camille! I am SO sorry it took me this long for me to get it... I was kinda slacking on my "job"! Okey-dokey, so here is the video!! My next video.... or the next one after that depending on how long it takes to save and stuff.... there will be a new intro... it will be pretty cool if you ask me! Hehe! My brother has been working on it non-stop... it has taken him at least 4 and a half hours! It is really cool though :) Also, in my next video I will have background music that has no singing in it... it is only instrumental. Camille told me that it was kind of hard to understand me with someone talking even though it was turned down - and I agree. :) SO after explaining to my dad and brother I asked them if we had any "only music" songs... and they said they didn't think so. Domino Nail Tutorial

Hi guys!! Sorry I haven't uploaded a video in a while! I had this one recorded for a long time.... and I even had it edited, but I did it on the wrong computer (it won't upload on blogger on the other one) so I had to re-edit it on this computer which took a while for me to do. OK, so here are the numbers I did on each finger :)

Right Hand
Pinky- double 5
Ring Finger - double 4
Middle Finger - double 3
Pointer Finger - double 2
Thumb - double 1

It's the exact opposite on the other hand...

Left Hand
Pinky - double 1
Ring Finger - double 2
Middle Finger - double 3

Note: I didn't do a introduction as a narration or in person, because I don't want my videos to be so long. They take longer to upload on the computer, edit, save, upload on blogger, and most important; it takes more of your time to watch them. Most people don't have time to sit at the computer for 20 minutes just watching how to do your nails. So let me know how that is.... I think the intros were kinda boring too. But you watch them, and I would like to get any feedback on how I can improve my videos!! Sorry if blogger is not playing my videos every time you want to watch them... I tried and it said it was currently unavailable and to try again later. I have mentioned this another time, but they will start working again... I don't know why it does that, and I'm sorry! Blogger has to process it, even after I put it on and its been on for days... so just come back and try it again in a few minutes if it doesn't work. Just thought I would tell you that in case your were wondering. Sorry again about that!

Watermelon Nails!!! I know that you already knew what they are if you read the title of this post, but I wanted an excuse to say "drum roll please".

Anyway, these are great summer nails, and perfect for picnic nails. Even though it isn't summer, and you wouldn't go on a picnic unless you want to get snow all in your clothes.

Hehe. I know I should of posted this in the summer, but I really just couldn't wait! Lol! I had wanted to do this design before I even had the idea of blogging in the first place! Lol! So several years, actually. I know that seems like a long time, and your prob thinking "The why didn't ya just do it for goodness sake!?" Lol, but I dunno, I had all the right colors and everything, but every time I would paint my nails I would always just not do them... for a reason I am not sure of. Watermelon nails and Ladybug nails were always the one's I wanted to do so badly. OH I know why I couldn't do them! Haha! Because I didn't have a green or a black.... of course there was a long time when I did have those colors and I still didn't do it. I dunno, I am weird like that, so that's just me ;) Anyway, hope you enjoy the tutorial!!!

Zebra Print Tips (you can also do plain zebra print)

Hey guys!!

I got 2 requests to do zebra print, and decided to do hot pink nails with a zebra print tip inspired by a little clutch bag that was one of the things my aunt, uncle and cousins gave me for Christmas. Of course you can do all of the nails zebra print :) If the design is too hard, you can do like the tiger stripe nails I did. I tried it, and here's the pick of them...

They are very easy to do :)

If you don't have an Art Deco, you can use a thin paint brush or nail art brush.... or even a toothpick.

Gradient/Fading Nails

These are super easy, even though they look hard :) The next tutorial I will be doing is Zebra Print nails, which I got requested twice.

If you don't have a foundation sponge, you can use a cotton ball, maybe... you can try. But I got a pack of like 28 of them at the dollar store, and each sponge you can use 3 or more times to do this design.

You also don't have to use the sparkles, I just thought it added more of a fading design.

Tiger Stripe Nails

He guys!! So, I did these Tiger Stripe nails... you can change the colors and make it zebra print, but I am going to have another design of zebra print that's a little more difficult, but it looks more like it.

If you don't have a Art Deco, you can use a thin paintbrush, or you can buy a brush that is just for that purpose.

Blogger won't post my videos... (please read)

I have another nail design that I did, and when I tried to upload it, it wouldn't work.... it took a lot longer than normal and then it said "Error. Contact Blogger Help Center". So I went there, and it just told me how to upload it, not how to fix the problem. Anyway, I tried 2 or 3 more times, and then made my video in a smaller file, just to see if the bigger file was too big for blogger. It didn't work after trying many times. It takes about an hour to upload it and says "Error". Anyway, if I don't figure out how to fix it, or if Blogger doesn't fix it, I will have to hold off on my nail videos. I am very sorry, hopefully the problem will be fixed tomorrow of in the next couple of days. I've never had this happen to me before, and my videos usually only take about 10 min to upload. If any of you know why this is happening please let me know in the comment section below. I won't be posting any videos, since I can't, but I will still be making them, so when blogger fixes this problem, I will be back to normal and have tons more. Thanks guys,

Doing your nails is fun, and I enjoy it a lot... but that doesn't matter if your heart is out of place.
1 Samuel 16:7 says it all... the Lord looks at our heart while we look at our outward appearance. It's whats on the inside that counts. That is not saying that you can't do something like paint your nails, but you need to make sure your heart is in the right place... with God.

Music Note Nails

I got a request to do music note nails :D

Of course you can make the background any color and the music note any color. I ended up doing the background light pink (since I wanted to try out that new color I just got) and I did the music note black.

They only take about 5-10 minutes to do one hand... 10 at the most, 5 at the very least. The drying takes up most of that time, so if you want to do a nail design, but don't have much time or don't want to take that long, these are great nails to do :)

This video i tried narrating it... let me know if that's a yes or a no in your opinion... also I used a different editing system that aloud me to do the narrating... with the other one I was using I couldn't have done it like that. We also have an even better editing system that I will try for my next video or in the next few videos.... it is better, but it may not be the one I will use, if I have to call my dad every 5 seconds to help me with it :)

How do I grow/keep my nails long?

Strengtheners - First of all, my nails are naturally strong and grow pretty quickly. I recently bought a nail strengthener from the Dollar Tree but I haven't started using it yet. If your nails are very weak and thin they won't grow very long because they will break easily.

Thin Nails - When your nails are thin and unhealthy, they won't grow very long because they will break easily. There is a way to re-gain health in your nails.

Manicure - I will show you how I give my nails a manicure if you want. It is very easy and doesn't take that long. It is good to give your nails a manicure once a week or once every two weeks.

It doesn't take that long to get strong, healthy, good looking nails :) I don't like to spend a lot of money and time on my nails, but I don't want them to look bad. A great place is to go to the Dollar Tree to get nail polish and nail stuff like nail clippers, emery boards, cuticle oil, nail buffers, nail polish remover, cotton balls/cotton pads, and more. You can also get stuff like that at drug stores or walmart. I was going to put of what my nails look like now, but it wouldn't upload on this post, so I will have to put it on another post.

Winter Wonderland Part Two - Snowflake Nails

Winter Wonderland Part One - Snowman Nails

This is part one of a nail tutorial I am doing. It is 2 different designs that you do on 1 hand. The first is a snowman on your thumbs - this video. And then you do snowflakes on your other fingers. I just made it in to 2 videos so it would be easier. I got a request to do snowman nails, and also to do snowflakes. So this is a 2-in-1 video.

Colors I used:
Art Deco - Black
Art Deco - White
Art Deco - Orange
Art Deco - Green
Pure Ice - Splash
Love My Nails - White

I did the same exact snowman when I didn't have the Art Deco's by using a toothpick and a thin paintbrush dipped in the color nail polish that I wanted. It looked great, and it wasn't harder to do that than it was to use the Art Deco's... so if you don't have any Art Deco's or other nail polish with a thin brush, then you can still do the nail design.

Sorry for the lighting and the graininess... that will improve in all of my other videos I make.

Cow Nails (VERY easy)

This is probably the easiest nails I have done besides just painting them. It is even easier than polka dots. I wasn't going to make a video of this, because it is so simple, but I thought why not? It is so simple, but not everybody thinks of cow print type stuff.... its always leopards, zebras, tiger, etc. So, I thought I would put it anyway :) Hope you enjoy!! If you want me to design a certain type of nail, you can just ask me to do one, and I will make it a video. I have gotten several requests lately, one to do a snowman. I thought of it already and did it, but took it off before doing my other hand. So, I didn't make it a video. That will be coming up after Thanksgiving, since there's really not enough snow on the ground to build a snowman.
